Classic Tour of Denmark

Day 1.

Arrival to Esbjerg

Driving into southern Denmark we head west to the shore of the North Sea and continue along the small roads, past the large dams that protect the lowlands behind from the frequent flooding in the Wadden Sea National Park (UNESCO World Heritage Site).
First stop in Denmark will be in Ribe, the oldest town in Denmark, and an old viking trade post with its grand cathedral, idyllic cobbled streets and half tiered houses.
From here we continue to Esbjerg - a relatively new and modern city with a large fishery port and an interesting museum of fishery. Esbjerg is developing to being a new hub for a fast growing energy sector out at sea.
