Classic tour of the Fjords

Day 1. 

Stavanger (appr. 400 km)


Arrive and/or transfer to Stavanger on your own. Here we will start our tour with a magnificent and sailing experience on the first Fjord on this trip, Lysefjorden. On this impressive fjord, we will experience one of a kind nature with waterfalls, idyllic little islands, and dramatic Fjelds (mountains) rising from the water, and culminating in the majestic “Preikestolen” which we will get to see from the fjord side. After our maritime beginning, we continue on a brief guided tour Stavanger before we leave for Bergen.

Day 2.

Bergen (Appr. 225 km)


Today we will do a city tour of this beautiful old Hansa Stadt - the second largest city in Norway. We will visit the fascinating old harbour area, where we will see the old Hansa structures, go on the “fløibanen” and see where the world famous composer, Edward Grieg lived. After noon, we will continue towards Flaam and “Sognefjorden”, Norway’s longest and deepest fjord. En route, we will be taking the breathtaking and scenic route, Aurlandsveien, and pass through the tunnel “Laerdalstunnelen, before we reach our hotel, located near the bank of this beautiful fjord, Sognefjorden.

Day 3.

Sognefjord (appr. 270 km)


The beautiful, green Faularfejll-road is an impressive route to take along the narrow fjords. It bends and turns on the steep cliffs and the serene valleys. Here we will make our way along the “Jostedals glacier” via Loen to Vidseter, where you will drive along moss clad mountains, past the “Grotli Fjell”. A more than 100 year old marvel of construction, carved through the mountains- and fjord covered landscape. We continue to the world famous “Geríranger Fjord”, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2005. Out hotel is located in the cozy and beautiful little town of Geiranger.

Day 4.

Geiranger (appr. 250 km)


We will start the morning after breakfast, driving along “Ørneveien” with it’s breath taking view of the Geiranger Fjord with it’s steep cliffs and clean, green waters. Soon we will get to the “Trollstig-ruten” the troll path route, which is made up of 11 sharp serpentine bends and leads up the steep mountain to Stigeroera. From here, we continue to Molde, better known as the “city of roses”. In the afternoon, we will be on another world famous stretch of road, Atlanterhavsveien”, or the Atlantic Sea Road, which makes it’s way through the Atlantic Ocean like a sea serpent. This magnificent stretch of road, is widely recognised as the most popular road construction in Norway for the entire 20th century.

Day 5.

Kristiansund/Rodane (Appr. 250 km)


The national tourist route, Rondane, follows the border between the Rondane Massive and an extremely well preserved cultural landscape. Rondane is a stunning backdrop to the route along the famous “Sohlbergplassen” rest area and it’s amazing view of the Rondane mountains. WE will stop at the STAVKIRKE in Ringebu before we continue towards Lillehammer.

Day 6. 

Lillehammer - Oslo (appr. 190 km)


In the morning, we will visit MAIHAUGEN FRILUFTMUSEUM in Lillehammer. After our brief visit to the museum, we continue our drive towards the capitol of Norway, Oslo. Here we will have a guided city tour, visit Vigelandsparken, the Royal Palace and the lower part of the main shopping street, Karl Johan. If time allows, we will see the world famous Holmenkollen as well.


Overnight in Oslo.

Day 7. 

Departure


After breakfast, guests will depart and our arrangement comes to an end.
